Abstract
Using prostate cancer incidence data from six states/metropolitan areas (Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Rhode Island, and Metropolitan Atlanta), the internal consistency of summary stage data was evaluated to determine whether a guideline could be developed to assess data submitted to NAACCR. A framework for identifying and correcting coding errors is described for prostate cancer.
